Born in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Cassio Audi early life was influenced by his talent in music. Together with four others of his teenage friends namely Pit Passarell, Andre Machado, Yves Passarell, and Felipe Machado they founded the Viper band in 1985. Cassio was a highly talented drummer and was influential in the heavy metal, alternative rock and thrash metal music genres the band played. The band drew their inspiration from Iron Maiden as well as the British heavy metal industry that was on the rise. In the same year they formed the Viper band, they recorded a demonstration album and called it the Killera Sword. The album had tracks such as Nightmare and Killera Princess from Hell. Their official album came in 1987 called Soldiers of Sunrise with the tracks such as the Knights of Destruction and the track Soldiers of Sunrise. The album took the Brazilian music industry by storm and became a hit following the raw and authentic talent of its members. Due to this publicity and fame, Cassio’s Viper band received an invitation to play for the Motorhead show opening ceremony in Brazil. This gave the band a lot of recognition both locally and globally. Cassio Audi and the Viper band were among the first heavy metal bands from Brazil and they straightened the way for other budding artists to spring up. At the peak of their first album, Cassio Audi and the Viper band were international rock stars. Though they cannot be considered the cream of the rock industry in Brazil, their contribution to the industry is highly recognized.
