Porfirio Sanchez Galindo is the director general of economic analysis and special projects of the Grupo Televisa, the largest media conglomerate in the Spanish speaking world. He has been working with the company serving in the lower management, and he has thoughts about shifting to another company to have his career growing. The executive vice president of Grupo Televisa, Alfonso de Angoitia, has called him on his telephone while he was still serving as the advisor to the finance secretary. Alfonso de Angoitia explained to Porfirio Sanchez Galindo what his next job would be, and that it will be better than the offer that he received from the World Bank. Because of the reputation of their executive vice president, Porfirio Sanchez Galindo believed that it will be a better decision for him to stay at the company, and soon accepted his new title. He made the right decision that day, as he would soon climb up the corporate ladder in able for him to become the director general of economic analysis and special projects. He is in charge of the decisions regarding the marketing and telecommunication aspect of the company.
Porfirio Sanchez Galindo has stated that he is enjoying his new post, working hard in order to contribute to the success of the company. Today, Porfirio Sanchez Galindo is working with the other departments in Grupo Televisa to enhance the experience that they give to their viewers. One of the projects that they are looking into would be the YOO, which is a marketing strategy that aims to provide basic television, internet and telephone service to the public that has a bundled price. They wanted every Latin American home, especially in Mexico, to be able to connect to the internet, and at the same time enjoy watching their programs and use the telephone. They are aiming to connect the majority of Latin American countries to the internet in the near future. Porfirio Sanchez Galindo is optimistic that through the cooperation between the department heads, this project would soon become successful. He is looking forward to see the day when everyone is happily connected to the internet, because he and his colleagues at Grupo Televisa believes that it is part of a society’s progress.
