The co-founders of the new and popular JustFab are Adam Goldenberg and his co-CEO Don Ressler. They bring passion and fun into there industry, which is rare in industries these days.
At the young age of 15 Adam founded his first company, Gamers Alliance. He sold three years later to Intermix Media in 1999. He quit high school and moved across the country to join the agency as vice president of strategic planning. At 20 years old, he was promoted to chief operating officer which made him the youngest officer of a publicly traded company. It was here at Intermix that Adam met Don; they became fast friends and soon started their own company in 2006- a brand incubator platform called Intelligent Beauty. Pretty soon, both men started brainstorming a new kind of personalized shopping experience accessible via the internet.
They adapted the thought process that shopping online would need to be made fun, engaging and easy for it to work. They sat down and discussed hiring style consultants and designers as well as building an attractive and affordable subscription model. The result was JustFab, a site where people receive a vast variety of shoes and handbags as well as accessories matching with their taste for $39.95 a month.
Adam states that they aren’t merely sending out shoes, bags, and jewelry each month, but these items match the customers personal style. JustFab gives woman ideas and shows them how to wear each item; they demonstrate these looks on models. Above all they want to inspire women. They also want their customers to share their experience and ideas with other customers.
I’m sure Don and Adam Goldenberg are not the first guys you’d think of to launch a major women’s fashion brand. Adam mentions that at the beginning of it, he couldn’t tell you the difference between a peep toe and a Mary Jane. But he also stated that he had never seen something with this much potential. They were confident in creating a transformational business.
Eventually both Adam and Don noticed a gap in the active-wear marketplace, so along with Kate Hudson, they created Fabletics in 2013. There were plenty of luxury brands but none that offered stylish and high quality gear at a great price. Membership costs $49.95 a month. Members can choose to skip a month without charge if they choose. When registering, members are required to complete a survey regarding their workout lifestyle. At the beginning of every month, personalized outfits are chosen and mailed directly to the member.
